CLP exams — Texas DPS order
Required for every CLP. DPS: 50 questions, 40 correct (80%).
Class A only. Coupling, air lines, offtracking. DPS: 20 questions.
Fail this and DPS adds an L restriction — no air-brake CMVs.
Endorsements
Not on a CLP. Needs ELDT theory, TSA fingerprints, then this test.
Liquid surge and high center of gravity. Allowed on a CLP.
Class A. Not issued on a CLP — full CDL only.
Buses. First-time P needs ELDT. Skills test in a bus.
Requires P as well. ELDT + skills in a school bus.
Class C — Texas car license
